A very rare & unusual early 19th cent. portable mahogany tambour top Ink & Pen box, circa 1845. Top opening to reveal an ebonized interior with three removable glass inkwells & a pen tray. Below, a general items drawer ( lacking key) . Original brass carrying handles, knobs etc. Cleaned, wax polished and all in very good original working order.
